Procedure:

1. Warm-up (5 minutes)

- Show pictures of different colored hats and clothes on the whiteboard. Ask students to identify the colors of the hats and clothes. Write their answers on the board.
- Introduce new color words using the handout. Say, "Let's learn some new color words. Can anyone tell me what 'blue' means?" Write the word 'blue' on the board.
- Introduce the phrase 'here is a [color] [item].' Ask students to repeat it after you. Explain that this phrase is used to talk about a specific item that has a certain color.

3. Practice (15 minutes)
- Distribute red hats to each student. Ask them to wear their hats and practice using the phrase "Here is a red hat." Encourage them to say it in different situations, such as when they see another red hat or when they are choosing a hat for a costume party.
- Distribute pictures of different colored hats and clothes. Ask students to match the items with their corresponding color words using the handout.
- Play a game where students take turns saying, "Here is a [color] [item]." The other students have to guess what color and item they are referring to. This helps students practice using the phrase in context.

4. Production (10 minutes)

5. Wrap-up (5 minutes)
- Review the key points of the lesson by saying, "Today, we learned about colors and how to use the sentence 'Here is a [color] [item]' to talk about things that have that color. Let's practice again, this time using our own hats."
- Give each student a handout with more color words and phrases for homework. Assign homework questions like, "What color is your shirt? Can you find something that is that color?"
